Six month check-up

Emily had her check-up this morning (even though she's still 9 days shy of 6 months old). She is doing great! Her doctor was impressed at how well she sits up unsupported, and said she looks great and is right on track developmentally. She's also stretching out some -- 26 inches long, which puts her in the 50th percentile! She's still weighing in the 75th percentile, at 17 pounds, 14 ounces, and her head is still yooge -- 44.7 centimeters, which is the 90th percentile. Gotta have room for all those brains! And she took her shots like a man again: she didn't even cry for the second stick and she smiled at the nurse as soon as I picked her up. Such a trooper!

We introduced lunch to Emily today; she can now have baby food three times a day, and she's starting the stage 2 foods, which promise to be very exciting. We're going to try our first meat product for dinner tonight! Protein!

Here's a picture of Emily this morning in her swing, and a comparison shot of her on July 10 (at 3 weeks old) enjoying her first swing. What a difference six months makes!

It's amazing how much she's growing! Wait ... hopefully we don't all look that much older after six months ;)!
