Three day Mexican fiesta

We have been celebrating my 30th birthday all weekend long with a series of tasty Mexican dishes from my new cookbook, Everyday Mexican by Rick Bayliss. We love watching Rick's show on PBS, and Robert has been a Mexican food-cooking fool all weekend. Here are some of the interesting ingredients we got, including some crazy peppers and a bunch of tomatillos, for the weekend.In other news, a baby + chocolate pudding = a yooge mess.
But boy is it a tasty mess!

Finally, Emily decided to celebrate Mom's birthday by pulling a nearly-full 16 ounce styrofoam cup of (thank goodness) cool coffee down on herself yesterday morning.

A bonus bath was in order. Oh, and despite having two ear infections, Emily has been a real sweetheart this weekend. Having her and Robert in my life is the best birthday present of all.
