Pumpkin patch!

Last Tuesday we went to a local pumpkin patch for a field trip with some friends. Emily started the morning running around like a crazy person among looking at the various animals. These cages held bunnies.Emily then posed with some friends.
Abby was a real doll -- she spent probably two hours strapped to me and never complained.
Next we posed for some pictures.

The kids ran around inside a little barn area.

Then it was time for the hayride. By this time, Emily was a little hot and crabby, but she eventually rallied.

When we got to the actual pumpkin patch, Emily enjoyed climbing on some hay.
She picked a pumpkin.
Abby had fallen asleep.
Then Em played in a hay maze.

And climbed on some more hay.

When we got done with the hayride, we had a nice picnic lunch, which Abby enjoyed from her stroller.

Needless to say, Emily did not stay awake for the 20 minute ride home, and therefore didn't nap that afternoon, but it was worth it.

One of Robert's favorite thing to do when he was little was be king of the mountain. If there was a mound of dirt, leaves, or anything, he wanted to be up on top of it. Seems like Emily takes after her father in that. He also loved to run and if there was someone to race with, that was even better. I don't remember him figuring out the short cut. Way to go Emily! Looks like you guys had a really fun day! Emily's pose in the sunflowers looks almost like an Anne Geddes picture -- only way cuter :)!
