Here are some pictures of Emily playing around in her big girl bed the night Robert converted it. She calls it "my girl bed," and the transition to having her in it has been a million times easier than I feared it might be. Emily has surprised me and Robert with the ease with which she's handled two things we thought were going to be terrible -- giving up her pacifiers at 18 months and graduating to the big girl bed now. She really is quite a big girl.

Oh, and before she fell asleep that first night, Robert figured out that her pillow and head should go on the other end of the bed, with her feet at the end where the toddler rail has an opening. I think she feels more secure with the little bars where her face is.

I'm so glad it was an easy transition. Do you have any recommendations? We plan on putting Chase in a big boy bed in a couple of months.

Glad your transition has been better than ours! Hayes gets out of his toddler bed (rather than climbing out of his crib), turns on his light, then ours and says, 'watch cartoons!' all at 4 a.m. ...praying for a good night sleep soon!!!
She is darling and seems to be loving on her new baby sister!
