We headed to Robert's uncle Jerry's fishing house in Alabama for July 4. The night before we departed, Emily (just three days after she had her tonsils and adenoids out) helped Robert get the fishing gear together.
When we arrived in Alabama, we were thrilled to be reunited with Abby, who had spent Emily's surgery week at Grandma Lynn's house.
Emily enjoyed some fishing.
So did Robert.
Abby enjoyed messing around on the docked pontoon boat.
Cousin Olivia cast this line for Abby, who reeled it in.
She didn't want to touch it, but here's the fish she caught!
"How do you drive this thing?"
Abby also enjoyed playing with the bait.
Dad finished up his solo fishing and fished with Abby for a bit.
Meanwhile, Emily played on her laptop with Matthew, who she loves.
The previous picture was taken just before Abby had a wardrobe-changing accident on the deck. Nice.
The following day, July 4, was the official fishing tournament. Later that day, Robert took the girls out on the pontoon boat. They had fun for a while, and then it started pouring. After the boat was docked, they both ran from the boathouse to the main house, where I was, and I took these action shots of the soaking wet fisherwomen.
For the tournament award ceremony, Emily inserted herself with the big boys so she could sit with Matthew.
Abby won third biggest breem!
Emily won third biggest bass!
